She is an award winning artists having received -Artist’s Choice awards, People’s Choice awards, Portrait Society of America Merit Awards, multiple Best in Show awards and has been a Finalist in the Bold Brush, Raymar, and a Plein Air Salon competitions. Krystal’s work has been juried into numerous shows and events. She has studied with Rob Liberace, Dan Gerhartz, Clayton Beck, Jeffry Hein, Susan Lyon and Scott Burdick and has been producing Fine art for over 30 years.
Originally from Northern Wyoming, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Montana, Krystal now resides in Texas. Her oil paintings celebrate and reveal the magnificence of people, places and moments that matter most while holding space for the viewer in the bold, impressionistic passages and visceral mark movements where you add yourself to the narrative. Brown is a painted view of the world and how she chooses to see it originating from the need to create and a love for getting lost in the process. That first event was scary, and I never imagined that my work would be featured in Plein Air Magazine, American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, Southwestern Art and that I’d receive – Best in Show, Artists Choice, People’s Choice, Best Quick Draw, Plein Air Salon OverAll, Best Category and other top awards.įour years ago I didn’t understand how Plein Air Painting would open the world to me and that I would find one of my greatest joys and incredible community.Įven if you don’t want to participate in organized events I can get you through the scary bits and to painting SUCCESSFULLY in Plein Air. You don’t need to experience the fear or overwhelm that I did. Thank goodness I had someone to show me the ropes and give me a few tips that first time I did a Plein Air Event.
